Chris Johnson grew up quickly in an entrepreneurial family. He learned his work ethic and values in the heart of our nation.
It all started when his father put him on the payroll of their construction business at age 8.
From construction site clean-up….to increased responsibility each year at all levels of the company…Chris worked long hours when not in school while his friends enjoyed traditional weekend and summer recreational activities. In his free time, he and his younger brother caught and packaged night crawlers to sell to the fisherman at the local lake that was only two miles from their home. Together they sold over 1,000 dozen night crawlers each season from the small, homemade stand in front of their home. When the fishing season wound down…again Chris and his brother turned harvest time into a profit center. They would sellsweet corn from the same homemade stand…and, when he was old enough to drive, they expanded their business by delivering the corn door-to-door and sold sweet corn on street corners from the back of the family pick-up truck.
Chris studied business and communications at Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa. He produced and hosted his own radio and television shows where he interviewed campus speakers and reported on campus activities. As a full-time student and campus media celebrity…he still worked full-time at jobs and businesses he created.
After college, Chris joined the highly respected Principal Financial Group where he was one of the leading insurance and financial investment representatives in the region. Taking on a more entrepreneurial focus…Chris launched an extremely successful real estate career in 2003. His entrepreneurial heritage helped him create a steady six figure income while building a real estate team that generated over $75 million in closed sales in just 8 years.
