Let’s talk basketball…and how the entrepreneurial connection associated with REEbounding and basketball plays a winning role in both arenas.
First…the situation…
…5 seconds left in the basketball game…time out is called…the home team has the ball and is one point down. The coach huddles the team to outline the strategy to score the winning basket on the final play of the game. This strategy will be based on past successes in similar situations. The play is set…the team takes the court and gets set to execute the strategic play. The ball is passed in…the strategic shot is taken as the time runs down…and the shot misses. All the planning…the meeting…the history…the strategy is all for naught…no basket.
BUT WAIT…one of your teams players crashes the boards as the shot is launched…arrives at the basket as the shot misses it’s mark…and grabs the REEbound. After the missed shot…in one single motion…the player goes up and slam dunks the winning basket just before the closing buzzer!
Our entrepreneurial lesson in all this? You may have a strategy that has worked well in past situations when all the chips are down. You know you need results! You know you need a game winner! But when your initial, proven strategy fails…you need to REEbound! You need to have contingency plans in place so if and when the strategy fails…you still have an opportunity to win. It might not be the star player on your team…or even a play in your existing playbook…but it will be the individual that is at the right place and knows precisely what and how to do it…at exactly the right time…to get that REEbound and slam home the game winner.
So…not matter the situation…know that with effective, passionate REEbounding…you can still win!
