One of the common instincts of successful entrepreneurs…that launched everything from their passion…to their endeavor…to their vision of the future…is their ability to REEclaim everything…especially themselves!
Conventional wisdom typically is based on knowledge gained through conventional education. Conventional education measures itself in standardization…a those are usually “minimum” standards. Classroom achievement is designed to make sure everyone is…at least…on the same page before everyone advances together. This learned mode of achievement has proven to the single source of demotivation for entrepreneurs. Then…when someone breaks out of the mold…like Bill Gates who dropped out of Harvard University to go on to be one of the greatest entrepreneurial minds in history…they are the exception…not the rule. Isn’t it about time the institution of standardized education makes entrepreneurship the rule…rather than the exception.
The way we learn in today’s standardized classrooms is typically based in common sense and the “basics”. That model is great for the status quo who seek the “JOB” mentality. You know…study hard…get good grades…so you can get a good job! Entrepreneurs don’t want jobs…they create jobs! What if only 25% of today’s students were educated in entrepreneurship from day one…and those students created just 10 jobs each? The only financial crisis we would possibly be facing would be how to share, develop and help those less fortunate prosper.
All this can be done if we…and it starts with YOU…REEclaim everything. We need to REEclaim our entrepreneurial spirit as a nation. We need to REEclaim our standards that are set well beyond the basics. And…we need to REEclaim our passion for “never settling” for the status quo!
